Longer term recruitment initiatives (Prong 3)

October 26, 2005 KRSC hosted a display booth at the Rogers State University Job Fair. The booth was staffed by the Interim General Manager, Alan Lambert, and the Chief Engineer, Jim Mertins. Though we were not recruiting for a specific position, the effort was to attract as many people as possible to the broadcasting career, while collecting names and resumes for future openings.

Internships/Practicum students - 1 in spring semester and 1 in fall semester (one student had to drop out or it would have been two). Also, in the spring semester all the students who enroll in the upper division practicum, intern on the RSU Magazine Program. In the spring semester there were about 10 such students. They do not register with us as interns, but receive much of the same training & mentoring.

Tours were given to Claremore Scout Troup 187, Claremore Tiger Cubs, Leadership Rogers County (community leaders, to promote broadcasting as a career), and a group of area high school & vo-tech teachers (who teach broadcasting/communications, our goal being to recruit their students to broadcasting).
